100% Mencia from the village of Valtuille in the Bierzo region. The Estevez family has been farming these vineyards for generations. They just started producing wine under their own label a couple years ago. The average vine age is about 80 years old. They are planted in clay with some sandy portions at the higher elevation vineyards, which is about 600 meters above sea level.

Vinification process: after a careful selection of the grapes, the fruit macerates 4-5 days in stainless steel tanks at a low temperature where
we extract the maximum aromatics.
The alcoholic fermentation is then carried out at controlled temperature.
After depleting the sugars, we let the malolactic fermentation to
develop. This "Joven",or young wine, is stored in stainless steel tanks and bottled after about 10-12 months. Alcohol at bottling 13.5%.
Corked bottle may be refunded or replaced. Returns for flawed bottles will be assessed on a case by case basis.
