100% Mencia from the village of Villadecanes in Bierzo. Juan Martinez Yerba's father started making wine in 1971 from the vineyards that he purchased on the hillsides of the village where he lived, Villadecanes. The vineyards are now about 90 years old bush vines. Juan and his family pick the fruit early in the morning, by hand in small lots. They take the fruit back to the winery and crush the grapes by foot before sending them to their very modern, digitally controlled fermenters located in their 100+ year old barn.
