This is a fabulous set of wines from Arietta. Winemaker

Andy Erickson has a great touch in marrying classic Napa

Valley richness with the savory qualities these cooler-climate

sites confer naturally. The 2019s are terrific. Although the

reds get most of the attention, the three whites I tasted for

this report were all compelling.

Tasting Notes:

Arietta's 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon is outstanding.

It will require a number of years to be at its most

expressive and for the bouquet to fully open, but

all of that potential is there. Deep, layered and so

well balanced, the 2019 is impressive right out of

the gate. There is so much to look forward to. Inky

dark fruit and a whole range of cooler-climate

mineral/savory notes typical of Coombsville

punctuate the huge, redolent finish.
