In the Spring of 2019, Victoria and her mother, Carla Caccamise, traveled to Italy.  We knew that we wanted to find some Italian wines to add to our portfolio but weren't sure where to start.  I mentioned this to one of our wholesale partners in CA and he suggested Emilia-Romagna as he had been getting some requests for wines from the region.  (Thanks Chris!)  

As we always do, we wanted to find wines that were truly representative of the region and that utilized indigenous varietals.I rented a car and travelled deep into the Romagna region where Sangiovese & Albana are king.  After a long trip of winding roads through beautiful Italian countryside I arrived at Ca di Sopra.  This is a family business run by the partiarch's two sons.  The farm is located in Marzeno, in the hills just outside the city of Faenza, only a few kilometers from Brisighella and Modigliana, in one of the most interesting wine growing areas of Romagna.The family has owned the winery for over 40 years and cares for it meticulously.  I visited a number of wineries in this region and specifically selected Ca di Sopra to import based on the fierce commitment the brothers have to the quality of their wines, the health of their vineyards and displaying the uniqueness of their site.  Moreover, they are a lovely family and are a pleasure to do business with.  We take pride in the opportunity to showcase their wines and look forward to working with them for many years to come!
